Psychology of Form: Perceptions of Love

This is a new body of work for me. My previous work relied on representational forms of figuration to describe my anxieties about love; for Family, for a Lover, and for Self. These portraits became the site of these emotional urges to see into myself, like a mirror. Recently, deeper questioning has demanded more complex, even unknowable processes. Discomfort and yearning guide my hand to frenetically use repetition and supernatural colors. From this process, forms are generated. They are the subconscious image from within. These paintings and drawings now serve as a place to evaluate my emotions. I like to think of my work as giving form to feeling.
